Darcy Donavan Of Ecoin Finance On The 5 Things That Can Be Done To Improve and Reform The Cryptocurrency Industry

The top thing that I can think of that can be done to reform the cryptocurrency industry is to enhance education in the space. As the old saying goes, “knowledge is power”. It took me a long time to learn what I know in Crypto and even then, I have been burnt in the past. I know people who have had their wallets hacked because they didn’t know how to properly protect their seed phases. People are always asking me how to get started in Web3 because they feel lost, so I am personally working on a training program to help teach basic safety tips in Web3. Once new people coming in can feel safer about Web3, we will be that much closer to mass adoption. Aspart of my series about the “5 Things That Can Be Done To Improve and Reform The Cryptocurrency Industry”, I had the pleasure of interviewing Darcy Donavan.

Darcy Donavan is an American born actress and recording artist, born in Miami, Florida and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Darcy began her career in the entertainment industry as a child actor and starred in a number of national television commercials at a very young age. Darcy has appeared in roles for hit movies and television shows including, “Anchorman”, “Modern Family”, “Parks and Recreation”, “Secret Agent Dingledorf”, “Bones”, “Six Feet Under”, “Entourage”, “Cult”, “All My Children”, “My Name is Earl”, “Las Vegas” and “Nip/Tuck”, to name a few. With her extensive knowledge in the business, Darcy is now producing her own projects in addition to her acting. Her work in film and television are only a few of Darcy’s passions. As a platinum selling recording artist, Darcy’s release of her first album had catapulted her singing career and enabled her to tour with well-known artists across the nation.

Apart from her career endeavors, Darcy has dedicated her life to inspiring others through her charity work and through her huge social media presence, sending words of inspiration to her millions of loyal fans daily. After prompting from her fans and friends, Darcy became an author, penning a best-selling inspirational guide book called, “Darcy’s Daily Dose, of Inspiration”. From the sales of her book, she donated part of the proceeds to several deserving charities including, Protect.org and Valley View Vaulters. Through her philanthropic career, she has raised awareness and supported hundreds of charities. Darcy was recognized for her work and named a World Peace Ambassador.

In addition to her extensive accolades, Darcy is also a savvy entrepreneur. Darcy keeps busy with her businesses and investments in Cryptocurrency, NFTs, the Metaverse, and projects throughout Web3. Also known as the #CryptoQueen, she is the CMO of the cryptocurrency, Ecoin Finance. Thank you so much for doing this with us! Our readers would love to “get to know you” a bit more. Can you tell us a bit about your “backstory”?

Hello Authority Magazine, it is such a pleasure to be interviewing with you. I would be happy to tell you a little bit more about me. I am a Film & Television Actress, Producer, Entrepreneur, Social Media Mogul and Influencer to 7+ Million. Most people recognize me from hit movies and television shows like, “Anchorman”, “Modern Family”, “Parks and Recreation”, “My Name is Earl”, “Entourage”, “Nip/Tuck”, “Bones” and others, but I am also a former Ms. Nashville, Tennessee, a best-selling author and a platinum selling Recording Artist. Apparently, I’ve been keeping myself busy. Lol. In the last few years, I have gotten heavily involved in Web3, focusing on Cryptocurrency, NFTs, the Metaverse. As the #CryptoQueen, I am the CMO of the cryptocurrency, Ecoin Finance, a Co-Owner of the Metaverse “Income Island” and an advisor in the Crypto Magazine resource guide and the Global Blockchain Council. I am launching my NFT line “StarDawgs”, which is tied to Films and Television shows I have in pre-production as well. Oh, did I mention that I have 6 rescue dogs and that I am also a great cook? ;)hahaha

Can you tell us the story of how you got first involved in blockchain and the cryptocurrency industry?

I have been in Web3 for about 6 years now. A friend of mine invested into Cardano when it first launched and told me that he was doing well with it. I saw the opportunity and I began researching and I immediately got hooked.

I loved learning about all the technology and from there, I invested into several blockchains including, Cardano, Tron, Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple. I really enjoy everything about Web3 and over the years I have expanded into Tokens, NFTs and the Metaverse as well. There are a lot of amazing people working in the Web3 space and the opportunities, technologies and social impact that Web3 is bringing to the world is truly amazing. I believe that we are in the early stages of what will be known as one of the largest shifts in world history.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story about that?

I have to say one of the people that I am most grateful for was my Grandfather. He always inspired me to do my best and live a life with integrity. He had a rough upbringing, but he never let that stop him from following his dreams. Eventually those dreams brought him into the arms of my Grandmother, and into the country of America. He is the one that taught me that anything is possible if you just keep working at it. He was the one who encouraged me and even bought me my first guitar. Even though he died when I was 15, he inspired me to always pursue my dreams, no matter what.

Can you share a story of a time when things went south for you? What kept you going and helped you to overcome those times?

I have to say that I have had MORE than my fair share of things going south in my lifetime. From dealing with domestic abuse at a young age, to bullying, sexual abuse at a young age, financial hardships, betrayals and more, it would be hard for me to point out just one story. What has always kept me going is God. He has given me a persevering spirit and through the hardships, I have been able to overcome all obstacles and keep moving forward. He’s always been there for me, and I’ve noticed that when I pray, things start falling into place, even in difficult times. Knowing that hurt and struggle I had in my own life, is what inspires me to give back to others however I can.

In your experience, what are the top strategies that blockchain companies should consider to have a stronger competitive edge?

This is really a great question. First off, I think that just like Web2 Businesses, blockchain companies need to focus on the needs of their consumers. They need to make sure that they are always offering something of value to all of their holders. As time moves forward, we will see less and less “meme” coins and jpeg NFTs and more “utility based” companies with real life business models to back them up.

Secondly, blockchain companies need to engage with their communities. Give the consumers reasons to keep coming back. Rather than having your customers buy an NFT on a non-custodial wallet and never look at it again, find ways to engage with them across Social Media, the Web and Metaverse, creating an integrated and satisfying user experience and community fanbase.

Lastly, blockchain companies need to find new ways to integrate the masses into Web3. In 2023, we are only sitting at about 5% of the world’s population who even know about Crypto and Web3. Blockchain adoption is happening faster and faster. It’s not a matter of if, but when, and the companies who integrate and hold on to new consumers now, will be the ones that will reap the most benefits in the future.

What are the 3 things that most excite you about the blockchain industry in general? Why?

3 things that excite me in the blockchain industry are:

  1. Amazing new technology in the space including new blockchains that allow for scaling and building out other tokens, NFTs and Metaverse platforms.

  2. Seeing Web3 being integrated into all aspects of our lives, whether people realize it yet or not. I believe that Web3 is the next evolution in tech, finance, business and social engagement. We have only just scratched the surface of what is coming in this sector and how it can help us in so many ways.

  3. I’m probably most excited about how the Entertainment Industry will incorporate Web3 and blockchain technology, helping open Web3 up for mass integration.

What are the 3 things that worry you about the blockchain industry? Why?

I can’t say that anything really worries me about the blockchain industry. I know that companies like FTX have put a bad name out there for Crypto. Throughout the growth of the Web3 space, there have been numerous scams, rug pulls and honey pots, but it isn’t any different from other businesses or financial sectors who have dealt with things like corporate espionage, insider trading, real estate scams and securities fraud. Crypto is not the problem, the leaders behind the companies FTX, Alameda or Terra Luna are the problem. It’s like Mr. Toomey stated in the Senate Hearing, in 2008 we had the Mortgage Crisis, but it didn’t mean that Mortgages were bad, it was the people behind the Mortgage companies. I feel that just like the dot com boom, the bad companies are getting weeded out and the future of Crypto is very bright.

Ok, thank you for all of that. Here is the main question of our interview. Can you please share “5 Things That Can Be Done To Improve and Reform The Cryptocurrency Industry”? If you can please share a story or example for each.

2. The second one I can think of is government officials being educated more about the Crypto and Web3. These are the people running the world, they should be the most educated with everything it has to offer as well as it’s downfalls, to help educate and assist in mass adoption.

3. I do believe that we need to see better policies and regulations in the space, but I also feel that Crypto is made for the people by the people and I believe it should stay that way. I’m a major fan of Decentralized Finance, which keeps the control of finances in the hands of the people, unlike FTX which was a Centralized exchange that went bad and took the assets of the holders. No matter what type of exchange it is, policies should be in place to protect the ones using it.

4. I feel the SEC should better advertise its requirements to the masses, because most people don’t even know anything about the SEC regulations that are set up to protect them. Kim Kardashian fell prey to this when she followed all the FDC guidelines but missed one small one from the SEC and got fined heavily for it.

5. We also need to educate corporations around the world on the benefits of blockchain technology and how it can assist in speed, accountability and transparency. We are already seeing major companies implementing this, but we still have a long way to go.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world? Can you share a story?

One way I have been able to bring goodness to others is through my inspirational messages on social media, which I have been told have saved numerous people from committing suicide. This also led to me writing my inspirational book “Darcy’s Daily Dose of Inspiration”, with a portion of the proceeds going to 3 worthy charity causes. I have also been working with the Global Blockchain Council, assisting in setting up standards and security measures to protect people currently in Web3, as well as new people who have been onboarding. I have been developing my 3D NFT Project “StarDawgs”, which will help others get into the Entertainment Industry through Movies and Television shows I am developing and producing.

I was also proud to be chosen as the Global Peace Ambassador for Dubai. I’ve helped thousands of people and charities throughout my life and I would love to help many more.

Can you please give us your favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share how that was relevant to you in your life?

My Grandfather always told me: “There are no luggage racks in a hearse.” Your name and reputation is your most valuable asset. The legacy that I want to leave, is one where I help change the world to be better, because I feel that is one of the most important things that you can leave behind.

How can our readers further follow your work online?

You can follow me and see what I am up to on my Social Media Channels.
