Darcy Donavan talks about her journey in the industry

Darcy Donavan is an American born actress and recording artist with a German, Italian and Brazilian ancestry. Born in Miami, Florida and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Darcy began her career in the entertainment industry as a child actor and starred in number of national television commercials at a very young age.
Excerpt from an interaction with Darcy.
What are you most passionate about?
Darcy Donavan: I’m passionate about a lot of things. Pretty much anything that I choose to do, I will put my heart into it and be passionate about! (Such as my music and my acting career.) What l am most passionate about would be a hard question to answer. I am passionate about life in general.
Some of the things that I love dearly are the Charities that I work with, especially the animal charities. I also love to inspire others with my daily messages on my social media and am passionate about my fans who inspire me every day and are like my little family.
I am also very passionate about food. Can’t leave that one out! Yep, I love my food. Lol (lol means laugh out loud for all of you who don’t know).
Are you also a bathroom singer?
Darcy Donavan: Yes I am definitely a bathroom singer. LOL (That’s a great question by the way.) I do a mean Mick Jagger in the shower. Too bad I don’t have a Coliseum of people to watch me because it would be quite a show! Lol lol. ? ? ?
Do you consider the destiny as a major player in making you what you are or was it your passion that drove you here?
Darcy Donavan: Well let’s just say if destiny was a person I’d like to kick them in the ass! LOL LOL It was definitely my passion that drove me to where I’m at. I had a lot of obstacles in my way and it was my passion, tenacity and unrelenting drive that got me to where I am today. No one ever handed me anything and I had to go out and work my fingers to the bone for everything that I ever had.
What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
Darcy Donavan: Well, I would have to say skydiving was one of craziest things that I have done. I didn’t tell my mom because she would have been really upset with me and wouldn’t have wanted me to do it… but I did it anyway! Then I called her afterwards and told her and she was just happy that I didn’t die. LOL. ? ?
I always like to try something that I’ve never done and sometimes people think that’s crazy. You only have one life to live so why not enjoy it to the fullest. ?
You are multi-talented person, a singer, actress and dancer. What profession other than yours would you like to attempt?
Darcy Donavan: Well one of the new things that I’m definitely doing is writing books. I really like being a storyteller, whether that is through my music, acting or even as an author, I love to share my world and experience with others around me.
I feel like no matter what kind of God gifted talent you were born with or what your profession is, you can always get better and do other things and pursue other avenues as you get older and wiser. I’m right now working on several books and screenplays and I’ve already got a lot of major studios that have expressed interest in wanting to produce them.
What accomplishment in your life are you most proud of?
Darcy Donavan: That is hard to say, because I’m a type A personality, meaning that no matter what I do, I always want to top it.
To me, each year is a new chapter in my life. I am proud of the accomplishments that I have achieved, since they got me to where I’m at. I feel like I can’t just put a milestone on one accomplishment, because that wouldn’t be fair to everything else that I’ve done.
I will say though, that I’m really proud of the books that are getting done and the screenplay that I created. It is a hilarious comedic script that I’m working on with some great A-list actors. I co-wrote it with a friend of mine and I’m excited to be moving forward with the project as an executive producer on it as well ?
What are the perks of dating you?
Darcy Donavan: Now that is an interesting question, LOL LOL I’m a damn good cook and I’m definitely funny.So you get a comedian that cooks extremely well (and I don’t look too bad in a little black dress with some high heels.
What’s turns you on?
Darcy Donavan: What really turns me on is food! Lol
I love food!!! lol That to me is a big turn-on ,delicious food, and honestly somebody that smells really good.
I have a nose like a bloodhound. So when somebody has minty fresh breath and they smell really great because of wearing some good cologne (Oh My God) that is such a turn-on to me.
I also love it when a man dresses in a really nice business suit and he looks really debonair and well-kept together. There’s something about that, which really turns me on. I also love it when a guy can kiss really well that is a big turn-on too. Man it’s getting hot in here, I think I’m going to have go. LOL.
What about you personally? Do you ever feel like you’ve been judged unfairly because of what you do?
Darcy Donavan: I feel like it’s not just me, but a lot of women and I’ve even heard from men, that people get a misconception of certain things, because you’re in the entertainment industry. It’s really sad to me.
My job is just like any other job.You have to train for it and have to be extremely dedicated. It’s not an easy profession and it’s not for the faint hearted. All entertainers at one point or another will face rejection, judgement and stress. Sometimes you get a hard brake. I feel like a lot of times people have a misconception about it being so glamorous.
There’s a lot of times where it can be extremely difficult. With gruelling schedules you may be working hours similar to a doctor. Sometimes the weather is unfavorable and you need to act as though it does not affect you. I’ve been on set during some of the worst conditions you can imagine and I got extremely sick and had to go to the hospital. It can definitely affect your health and your well-being, so you put your health on the line for what you do. Sometimes people don’t realize that. They just see you in a magazine, walk a red carpet or they see you on television and they don’t realize that you’ve had to go through the hard knocks just like everybody else.
Now, I’m not saying everybody in the entertainment industry has challenges. There are some people that have been grandfathered, meaning that they have a Mom or Dad or someone who’s in the business and they’ve had it easy, but for people like me who have had to start from the bottom up, those are the people that I’m talking about.
What are some of the best gifts you’ve gotten from fans?
Darcy Donavan: Oh my God!!! There are so many amazing gifts that I can’t even begin to say what the best gifts are. Each gift to me, no matter how small or big I cherish with all my heart. For example, l have a fan who is so amazing and from Mexico, he sends me flowers almost every week and they are absolutely beautiful. Every time I get them I am in awe of how sweet and thoughtful he is to do that.
I’ve had so many people that have done so many amazing things that it just warms my heart dearly. From fans making homemade gifts that have my animals’ names on them, to things that I enjoy and they go out and buy for me. If I love a specific television show or cartoon character they will find it and send it to me. I was in the hospital last year and I mentioned that have a Kermit the Frog doll that I took to hospital to cheer me up. In passing I said that I needed to try to get a Miss Piggy doll and asked my fans if they knew where l could buy one. Sure enough, I got a ton of Miss Piggy’s that I sleep with all the time. LOL! IT WAS SO AWESOME! It’s actually quite comical too!
All of my fans are so amazing, I can’t even begin to tell you how magnificent they are. All of them are my family and I cherish them with all my heart and soul.
Do you have any Funniest memory on screen or off screen?
Darcy Donavan: Well I won’t say the person’s name because he is very well known. But I was working on a particular movie and I walked into the wrong trailer. Apparently this very famous actor got stung on his butt by a bee and the makeup lady had his pants pulled down exposing his entire butt and was trying to put some ointment on it.
So I walk up the steps, open the wrong door and there’s this big butt just staring me in the face. Well we all looked at each other kind of awestruck and then I just slammed the door and then walked back down the steps back to my trailer very quickly. It was pretty comical and very funny. I will never forget the look on his face. That was pretty hilarious!
If you had just one wish, what would it be?
Darcy Donavan: If I had one wish, I would definitely wish that everybody in the whole entire world had peace and Heaven on Earth. I would just really want for everybody to not ever experience any kind of grief, sorrow, hunger or any kind of pain as long as they lived.
If I gave you an elephant where would you hide it?
Darcy Donavan: Heck if I had an elephant, l wouldn’t hide it, I would show it off!
That elephant would think it was human by the time I got done with it. I’m such a huge animal lover and all my animals are so spoiled that they think they are human.
My dogs actually say “Mama” and talk to me and let me know what they want all the time. It just baffles people on how all my animals have such humanistic qualities. The elephant would probably be eating dinner with me and the rest of my family and by the time I got done with it, it would probably be talking too. LOL LOL
What are you working on these days. What are your future projects?
Darcy Donavan: As I mentioned in one of my earlier answers, I have a couple books that I’m working on, one of which is almost finished. The other book is a little over halfway through the first draft. I have several movies that I am going into development on, plus one that I starred in earlier this summer, which is set to be released in the next couple months. I also have a few more songs that I recorded and will be releasing those in the near future as well along with music videos to accompany them.
I’ll be honest, I’ve always got something that I’m working on from new television and film projects, to merchandising and business ventures, to assisting with charities around the world, there is barely any time to sleep. LOL
